cream city brick. Milwaukee was given the name "The Cream
City" not because Wisconsin is a major dairy producer, but because
of the unique shade of brick that the city produced and was built
from. These bricks were made in and around Milwaukee from the
mid 1800's to the early 1900's and exported throughout the great lakes region. A light shade of cream to yellow colored brick, quality of Milwaukee cream city brick varies from batch to batch and maker to maker. The Milwaukee brick making industry gave way to the Chicago brick producers around the turn of
the 20th century. 8" L X 2 1/4"H X 3 5/8"W
